The concept sites

VORMLAND, SALTHOLM and TARNHOLM are concept sites made by Umberform to show our work. The studio and brand names are fictional. Every image on them is real work by Render Friends, our own visualisation studio; where a project exists, we link to it.

All images on this site and on the concept sites are made by Render Friends. Please don’t reuse them or the texts without asking us first.

We link to other sites, such as render-friends.com. We are not responsible for what those sites publish or how they handle your data.

Privacy policy

In short: we don’t sell or share your data for advertising. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask before using analytics cookies; everywhere else, cookie-free-equivalent analytics run automatically. If you write to us, we use your details only to reply and to work with you.

When you visit the site

Like any website, our hosting and delivery providers receive technical data that your browser sends: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser and device type. We need this to deliver the pages and keep the site secure; the providers keep these logs for a short time.

We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Tag Manager to see which pages are useful — how many people opened a page, roughly where from, and what they did next. This uses cookies and Google may process your IP address and device information as described in Google’s privacy policy.

If our page detects that you are visiting from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a banner asks for your consent before any analytics cookie is set (Google Consent Mode v2): until you choose, no analytics cookie is placed and no data is sent for advertising purposes. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for umberform.com. Outside those regions, analytics run automatically, as is common practice there; write to us if you would like to opt out regardless of location.

The legal basis for analytics is your consent where a banner applies (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a)), and our legitimate interest in understanding site usage elsewhere (Art. 6(1)(f)).

The home page also keeps one technical value in your browser’s session storage — the colour of the page you came back from, so the transition looks right. It stays on your device and is gone when you close the tab.

Our fonts are stored on our own server, so no request goes to Google Fonts.

When you write to us

When you send the review form or email us, we receive what you give us: your name, email address, the address of your site, what you make and your message. We use it to reply, to prepare the free review you asked for and, if we work together, to run the project.

To keep bots out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks your browser for signs of automation; this involves your IP address and technical data about your browser, and does not use advertising cookies.

The legal basis is your request and the steps before a possible contract (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the site secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).

How long we keep it

Messages that don’t lead to work are deleted within 24 months of our last exchange. If we work together, we keep correspondence and project records as long as the law requires for accounting and contracts. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Services that handle your data for us

• Vercel — hosts the site and runs the form.
• Cloudflare — domain name service, image and video delivery, email forwarding, and the Turnstile bot check.
• Resend — delivers the form message to our inbox.
• Google (Gmail) — where our email is kept.
• Google (Analytics, Tag Manager) — counts visits and tells us which pages help, with a consent banner where the law requires one.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the EU or the UK, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

We never sell your data and never pass it to anyone for advertising.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, give it to you in a portable form, or stop using it. Write to hello@umberform.com — we reply within one month.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Ukraine, that is the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top.
